Dr. Vera Kamtukule is a Malawian executive leader, author, speaker, executive coach, and former Cabinet Minister whose career has been shaped by a commitment to public service, institutional development, and people-centred leadership.
Over more than two decades, she has served across government, civil society, international development, and executive leadership, building partnerships, shaping policy, and championing initiatives that strengthen institutions and create opportunities for communities. Her work reflects a leadership philosophy grounded in integrity, collaboration, and the belief that sustainable development begins with investing in people.

Throughout her career, Dr. Kamtukule has led organisations, advised decision-makers, and represented Malawi on regional and international platforms. From executive leadership in the nonprofit sector to serving in Cabinet, her experience spans labour, tourism, development planning, partnership building, and strategic leadership.
Today, she continues this work through executive coaching, public speaking, writing, and The Leadership Lab, where she convenes conversations that inspire leaders to think critically, lead courageously, and serve with purpose.

Her tenure included work around the 2025 Tourism Act, which established the Malawi Tourism Authority and Malawi College of Tourism.
Led national labour policy priorities, including decent work, employment, labour rights, and workforce development. She also represented Malawi in regional labour cooperation and served as Chair of the SADC Employment and Labour Sector.
Supported national labour programmes, including Malawi’s Decent Work Country Programme and efforts connected to child labour elimination, social protection, and rights-based employment.
Led the Secretariat of the Malawi Scotland Partnership, strengthening civil society coordination, international partnerships, advocacy, capacity building, and development links between Malawi and Scotland.
